|
CHENNAI:
Carelessness and indifferent attitude on the part of school authorities contributed to the death of the girl student of a school at Omalur, the Salem Collector and the Superintendent of Police have told the Madras High Court.
The submission was made in their counter-affidavit filed in response to a public interest litigation petition filed by the Tamil Nadu Catholic Educational Society, seeking Rs. 1.5 crore compensation to the school, damaged by an angry mob after the student was found dead.
The counter was filed before the First Bench comprising Chief Justice A.P. Shah and Justice K. Chandru. The Bench adjourned the matter to December 15 for further proceedings.
