Music programmes with a difference

CHENNAI: Sri Thyaga Brahma Gana Sabha, in coordination with Mudhra, is organising several music programmes with a difference during the ongoing music festival season.

The `Ariyakudi to Semmangudi' segment on December 10 will be a tribute to the past legends of Carnatic music, `Navarathnangal' on December 17 will showcase the work of nine composers, while `Guru-Shishya Parampara' on December 23 will involve discussions on the changing trends in teaching and learning music. Musicians and musicologists will participate in the programmes presented by musicologist Radha Bhaskar. Senior disciples of past maestros will be felicitated during the event.
