Houses burgled

TAMBARAM : Jewels weighing about nine sovereigns were stolen from two locked houses in Keelkattalai coming under the jurisdiction of the Madipakkam police station limits. The burglary came to light when the inmates returned home after attending a `villakku pooja' organised on Wednesday night.

Ramamurthy and his relative had gone to attend the religious function on Wednesday and they returned on Thursday evening. They found the front door and the almirah broken open and jewels stolen, the police added.
