Foreign cadets at Officers Training Academy

CHENNAI : Two Army officers and six cadets from abroad are at the Officers Training Academy here as part of an exchange programme.

Under the India-Egypt exchange programme, one Officer and two cadets are here from December 3. Another group of four cadets and an officer are also at the OTA as part of the India-Turkey exchange visit programme of Military Cadets.

Similar programme

As part of the similar exchange visit programme, one Officer and two OTA cadets spent a week at the Egyptian Military Academy, Cairo, last month.

This exchange programme is being conducted to give cadets exposure to the Military Training Academies of other friendly countries and allow them to acquire a wider spectrum of professional knowledge through close interaction and shared values in terms of sense of duty, leadership and camaraderie, common in both the armies, a press note said.

During the visit, the Officers and the Cadets from Egypt and Turkey were shown important training activities at the OTA.

They interacted with the cadets as well as Officer Instructors of the Academy.
