ERODE: The Handlooms and Textiles Minister, N.K.K.P. Raja, said that he will provide a dialysis unit to the Erode Government Headquarters Hospital at a cost of Rs. 4.5 lakh. Handing over 10 wheel chairs and 10 stretchers, donated by the Amway Opportunity Foundation, to the hospital authorities, the Minister said that he would sanction funds needed for the development of the hospital from the MLA Constituency Fund. He requested the public to donate generously to Government hospitals.
Stressing the importance of health care, the Minister said that all facilities will be provided at Erode Government Headquarters Hospital to treat all types of diseases free of cost. The Erode District Collector, D. Karthikeyan, presided over the function. He said that it was quite impossible for the Government to take up all the development works. The public should come forward and contribute generously. Several non governmental organisations and individuals were ready to help Government Hospitals and the authorities should make use of them properly.The Regional Corporate Communications Manager of AOF, S. Viswanath and the Erode Municipal Chairman, K. Kumar Murugesh spoke.
