Single window for clearances to be in place soon

  • Investors can also approach the Chief Minister
  • Government keen on ensuring job security

HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh Labour Minister G. Vinod on Saturday promised that a "pro-active" State Government would extend all help to industrialists if it meant creating more jobs and if they do their bit to help boost the economy. Speaking at an interactive session convened by the Southern Regional Council of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), he said that the Government would soon have a single window for clearances in place.

Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, he said, had made it very clear to investors that all doors would be open for them. "If you find any problem of access anywhere, you may freely contact me or even approach Dr. Reddy with ease," he told the participants, comprising CEOs and senior officers from Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Puducherry and Tamil Nadu.

Mr. Vinod said the State had acquired an image of being pro-active across the country. Several States and were replicating models being practiced here across different sectors.

While the Minister did not mince words in saying that the Government was keen on ensuring job security to workforce, participants also put their point across, saying it was workers' responsibility to make themselves employable. The interaction coincided with the council's meet, held once in two months at different locations across the south, said M. Lakshminarayan, Chairman, CII (Southern Region) and Joint Managing Director, Motor Industries Company.
