Screening of films

BANGALORE: The Government of Karnataka, Film Federation of India, Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce and Alliance Francaise de Bangalore launched the "Platinum of Jubilee of Indian Talkies" with the theme "75 years of sound" at Lavanya Cinema here on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, the former president of the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce M. Bhaktavatsala traced the history of sound technology in Indian cinema. Major films made between 1932 and 1949 will be screened at the week-long retrospective. The screening will be at 3.30 p.m. and 6.30 p.m. at two venues. The valedictory will be held at Elgin Cinema on December 14.
