Mixed fortunes for KMC teams

MANGALORE: Kasturba Medical Colleges' had mixed fortunes in the quarterfinals of the P.C. Zahir Memorial Football tournament being played at the YMDC Sports Complex, Deralakatte near here on Saturday.

While KMC, Mangalore lost to a solitary second half strike by Kem of Alva's Moodbidri, its Manipal counterparts toyed with Karavali Nursing College, Mangalore 4-0 to book a place in the last four. While Ganesh scored three goals for KMC, Manipal, Prem Kumar rounded off the tally for the winners.

Alva's will now take on hosts Yenepoya 'A' team in the first semifinal, while KMC, Manipal will clash with KVG Sullia on Sunday. — Staff Reporter
