Police warn of strict action

CHENNAI: The police on Saturday warned of stringent action under the National Security Act against those who instigated acts which disturbed peace.

A release issued by the office of the Director General of Police here said indulging in acts of violence such as vandalising and damaging portraits of leaders, pictures of Gods and statues, causing panic among the people by spreading rumours and publishing untrue reports were liable for stringent action.
