Delay will be examined: Achuthanandan

Special Correspondent

Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan

ALUVA: Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan has that he will find out why there was a delay in reinstating Inspector General Rishi Raj Singh as nodal officer of the Anti-Piracy Cell.

He said he had met Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan in Mumbai and discussed the issue.

He agreed with mediapersons, who met him at Aluva Palace on Sunday, that there was a delay in executing his directive to reinstate Mr. Singh, who had been removed from the post by DGP Raman Srivastava. Asked if the DGP would be removed for not immediately acting on the Chief Minister's directive, Mr. Achuthanandan said he would examine everything after he got back to Thiruvananthapuram. When asked for a definite answer, Mr. Achuthanadan said: "You will come to know of it (a decision) afterwards." He referred to the seizure of a truckload of pirated CDs in Thiruvananthapuram and wondered why the DGP's `sense of justice' had not worked then.
