Bangladesh team arrives in State

HYDERABAD: A nine-member Bangladesh delegation arrived in the State to study the impact of tribal dialect textbooks that were prepared by the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan for children of nine tribal sects in Andhra Pradesh.

The delegation, led by Jacob Kumar Sarkar of Save the Children, UK, met SSA State Project Director K. Chandramouli at his office here on Monday.

According to Mr. Sarkar, Bangladesh also had plans of preparing textbooks in tribal dialects for children of 13 sects living in Chittagong. The delegation would visit Bhadrachalam and Utnoor to study how SSA's books were being utilised.

Mr. Chandramouli said SSA had prepared books for the Savara, Konda, Kuvi, Gond, Adivasi Oriya, Kolami, Koya and Banjara tribal sects.
