PALAKKAD: The no-confidence motion moved against vice-president of the Palakkad Municipality S.R. Balasubramniyam of the BJP was passed with 33 councillors supporting the motion and 17 opposing it. The motion moved on Monday by the 18-member United Democratic Front (UDF) was backed by the 15-member Left Democratic Front. The BJP has 17 members in the council. The no-confidence motion was moved by P.V. Rajesh of the Congress. The UDF had won the post of the chairperson recently. The BJP nominee was elected as BJP was the single largest party in the Council.
