dated December 13, 1956: Most cartoonable person

Mr. David Low, the famous British cartoonist, finds, after "looking at the stars of the public on the world stage today," that there has been a steady decline in striking personality as compared with pre-war days. "In India, Nehru may be an excellent and much-advertised person, but the British public schools did too good a job on him. As a picturesque character, he simply does not compare with Gandhi, that extremely uncommon man." According to Mr. Low, who has been drawing cartoons for the last 50 years, the most cartoonable personality today is Mr. Khrushchev. This, he says, despite the fact that Mr. Khrushchev himself deplores "the personality cult." Follow-ups are: Nasser, Ben Gurion and Archbishop Makarios.
