Shruti in lead

Mumbai: Delhi's Shruti Khanna took the lead on a lacklustre opening day of the 57 Western India Ladies' Open Amateur Golf Championships at the Bombay Presidency Golf Club course here on Tuesday.

Shruti carded 79 on the par-70 course and is one stroke ahead of Mumbai's Sonia Malhotra. Behind Shruti and Sonia are Mani Chander (Chandigarh), Shruti Naik and Shweta Galande (both Delhi), Rajeshwari Agarwal (Pune), Rani Maheswari (Mumbai), Sania Sharma (Chandigarth), Nalini Singh and Mehar Atwal (both Delhi).
