MUZZAFARPUR: Former Bihar Governor and Congress leader Buta Singh on Tuesday joined the political chorus demanding President's rule in Uttar Pradesh alleging free and fair polls would not be possible under the Mulayam Singh Yadav government. Talking to reporters here, Mr. Singh said he feared that Samajwadi Party workers would indulge in large-scale rigging and abuse official machinery for their party's victory in the polls due early next year. He alleged that SP workers indulged in large-scale malpractices during the civic body polls recently. ``Our party complained to the Governor and also to the Election Commission. We feel that President's rule should be imposed in the State before the Assembly polls,'' Mr. Singh said. - PTI
