KOLKATA: Mumbai and Tamil Nadu are poised to enter the final of the under-19 Cooch Behar Trophy cricket tournament. Mumbai needs nine runs to take the first innings lead against Karnataka at the Eden Gardens, while Tamil Nadu is five runs ahead of Orissa in the other semifinal at Jamshedpur. According to information received here on Tuesday, Tamil Nadu, chasing Orissa's first innings total of 222, ended the second day at 227 for nine off 84 overs. The opening pair of L. Surya Prakash (31) and Abhinav Mukund (47) put on 87 for the first wicket, while K.M. Sanjeev (51) and K. Sriram (24) added 52 for the seventh wicket and Sanjeev and M. Prabhu (20 batting) added 33 for the ninth wicket to give Tamil Nadu the lead. Meanwhile at the Eden Gardens, Ajinkya Rahane (82), Sarvesh Pamle (82 batting), Anup Revendkar (65) and Sushant Khaire (47) came good with the bat to help Mumbai score 311 for four in 84 overs after dismissing Karnataka for 319 in 100.3 overs. The scores: At Kolkata: Karnataka 319 in 100.3 overs vs. Mumbai 311 for four in 84 overs (A. Rahane 82, S. Pamle 82 batting, A. Revendkar 65, S. Khaire 47).
