New Delhi : Jaspal Rana has been chosen the `Best Sportsperson' of the Asian Games. The triple gold medal winner in pistol shooting, who contributed handsomely to India's tally, will be going back to Doha to receive the award.

"What can I say. I am thrilled. It happens only once in a life-time for a sportsperson. And I got it at this age. People dream about it. I got it. It is a great honour," said Rana when contacted on Tuesday.

The Secretary-General of the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI), Baljit Singh Sethi, said that he was informed by the Indian Olympic Association about the honour being bestowed on Rana and the shooter was advised to reach Doha in time for the closing ceremony on Friday. — Special Correspondent
