NEW DELHI: Eminent serving and retired police officers, young students involved in research on police-related subjects, non-government organisations dealing with policing and other scholars of the field from Indian and foreign universities will come together for a four-day colloquium organised here by the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPRD) and share ideas on policing beginning Wednesday.
Release
Titled "Respecting and Recognising Research", the colloquium will see release of three books -- "Inclusion and Exclusion - A Study of Women and Police", "Friends of Police" and research compendiums by the BPRD. Some of the key subjects on which papers would be presented and discussed include "Global Police Research", "Crime Mapping Application", "Impact of Vipassana on the Experiences of Tihar inmates", "Role of Distance Learning in Prison Welfare", "Road Accident-Site Investigation and Technology" and "Training in Emotional Intelligence and Values". A new website of the BPRD will also be launched on Wednesday.
