Tourists flock to Mussoorie

Staff Correspondent

DEHRA DUN: The mercury has dipped in Uttaranchal following moderate snowfall in the higher regions on Monday bringing much cheer to the farmers whose crops will benefit from it. Tourists could be seen rushing towards the Chamba-Mussoorie fruit belt beyond Mussoorie in a bid to see snow. Snowfall has also been reported from Mukteshwar, Kausani and Dunagiri in the Kumaon region and Chaukhamba, Chirbitiya and Gunogi areas of Garhwal division.

Sub-zero temperature

Shimla: Most parts of Himachal Pradesh reeled under sub-zero temperature as the fierce cold wave sweeping the region further tightened its grip following fresh snowfall in higher reaches and Shimla town. Most of the places in mid and higher hills experienced the coldest night of the season with mercury dipping to minus 21.5 degrees at Patseo in tribal Lahaul valley and zero degree in Solan.
