Woman robbed of chain

BANGALORE: A man snatched a gold chain worth Rs. 18,000 from a woman in HAL police station limits on Sunday evening. Police said that around 5.15 p.m., Sharada Swathi, a resident of Basavanagar, was walking at BEML grounds near her house, when the man snatched the chain from her.

The HAL police have registered a case.

Motorist killed

Manjunath (28) was killed after a multi-utility vehicle hit his motorcycle on Kanakapura Road around 10.45 p.m. on Sunday.

Police said Manjunath, a native of Kollegal in Chamarajanagar district, was a resident of Ganapathinagar here. He worked as car driver with a Zilla Panachayat member here. Recovered

The MICO Layout police on Sunday arrested Mohammed of Madiwala on charges theft and recovered from him gold ornaments, three laptops, silk saris and six mobile phones, all worth Rs. 6 lakh.

The HAL police have arrested Ramachari (23) of Murugeshapalya on charges of theft and recovered from him gold jewellery worth Rs. 1 lakh.
