Staff Reporter

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A photo exhibition is being organised at the Russian Cultural Centre, in connection with the visit of Metropolitan Kirill, the head of External Church Relations of the Ruissian Orthodox church, to the capital.

The photos on display show the architectural marvels of the churches in Russia, the customs and rituals of the Orthodox church and its celebrations.

Metropolitan Kirill came to India as the representative of the head of Russian Orthodox Church, Alexei-II. He released the Malayalam edition of the Christian classic, Philocalia, at a function held at the Malankara Orthodox Theological Seminari.

All religions should essentially stand for the protection of human rights, Metropolitan Kirill said. He was presented the St. Gregorios award by Catholico Marthoma Baselios Didimos-I.

The photo exhibition, which includes pictures taken during the visit of Metropolitan Kirill, concludes on Friday.
