University youth festival from tomorrow

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
The youth festival, being conducted by the University of Kerala as part of the Suvarna Keralam celebrations, will be held from December 15 to 19 at Mararikkulam.
Students from 167 affiliated colleges in the university will compete in 62 items at the youth festival, which will be held on eight stages.
The youth festival will begin with a cultural procression on December 15 evening at 5 p.m. About 50 lamps would be lit at the same time to proclaim the commencement of the festival. Cine star Mammootty will light the first lamp. Education Minister M. A. Baby, Finance Minister Thomas Isaac, Cooperation Minister G. Sudhakaran, Vice-Chancellor M. K. Ramachandran Nair and cine star Navya Nair will take part in the inaugural programme.
