UGC channel on the Net

New Delhi: The University Grants Commission's (UGC) dedicated educational channel can now be accessed online. It is the first of its kind to be available on the Internet.

The Consortium for Educational Communication, an inter-university centre of the UGC on electronic media that maintains the Vyas Channel, has put it on the Internet in collaboration with Ernet, an educational research network. "This is the first educational channel to be available on the Net. This is an effort to make knowledge freely available... Now students in any corner of the globe can freely access the site and participate in the lectures and discussions," said CEC Director Prof. G.D. Sharma. — PTI
