KOLLAM: The All-Kerala Bank Employees Federation announced here that it would join the general strike on Thursday. In a statement here, district secretary of the federation M.M. Ansari said the federation would join the strike to press its demands. The demands include abolition of the move to privatise the banking sector, filling vacancies in the banking sector, steps to retrieve non-performing assets, etc. The Kerala Gazetted Officers Association will also join the strike. In a statement, district secretary of the association V. Jayakumar said the strike was a solidarity of workers against the globalisation policies pursued by the UPA Government.
