NEW DELHI: The Congress expressing concern at price rise is a farce, the Bharatiya Janata Party said on Wednesday. BJP deputy leader in the Lok Sabha V.K. Malhotra said here that for the third time the Congress Working Committee, which met on Tuesday, talked about rising prices. This was the "biggest indictment" of the Government coming from the ruling party itself.
Ban on forward trading
The prices of rice, wheat, tea, cement and pulses were not only higher by nearly 60 per cent than last year's but had also gone up by 30-40 per cent in the last three months alone. The Government had yet to banforward trading in essential commodities, said Mr. Malhotra.
