Staff Reporter

Youth leadership training programme inaugurated

  • Propagate welfare schemes in rural areas, youth told
  • 50 candidates from three districts being trained at the camp

KADAPA: Youth should imbue leadership qualities and take part in service activities, Kadapa Zilla Parishad Chairperson D. Jyothi Reddy said on Wednesday.

She inaugurated a youth leadership training programme organised here jointly by Nehru Yuvak Kendra and Department of Adult Education, Sri Venkateswara University. She exhorted youth to dispel people's notions on illiteracy, child mortality rate and superstition.

Youth should further social development and curb social evils, by treading the path shown by Mahatma Gandhi and Indira Gandhi, she said. She appealed to youth to propagate among rural people the Government's developmental and welfare schemes. Youth should gain awareness and strive for development, Ms. Jyothi Reddy said. Janardhan Reddy, Director of Adult Education, SVU, said leadership qualities among youth would surface when their innate talent were effectively tapped.
