Dahiya retires

NEW DELHI: Former Test wicketkeeper Vijay Dahiya on Wednesday announced his retirement from first class cricket.

The Delhi opener, also a former captain, had begun the season with a career-best 152 against Tamil Nadu here after returning to the squad following a season's unavailability. He had made his debut in 1993-94.

"It is always better to go out on a high. I don't wish to block a youngster's way and it is the best time to leave," said the 33-year-old, who played two Tests and 19 ODIs for India. — Special Correspondent
