Anirudh to lead

HYDERABAD: Anirudh Singh will lead Hyderabad in the Ranji Trophy Super League match against Mumbai to be played at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium (Uppal) from December 17 to 20.

The team: Anirudh Singh (capt), D.B. Ravi Teja, T. Suman, N. Arjun Yadav, A.T. Rayudu, D. Vinay Kumar, Ibrahim Khaleel (wk), P. Pragyan Ojha, P. Indrasekhar Reddy, P. Kaushik Reddy, N.P. Colts XI team named

Hyderabad Colts XI to take part in the all-India Biren Pillai memorial cricket tournament in Bhadrak (Orissa) from December 24 was announced here. The players should report to the coach at Gymkhana Grounds from December 18 at 6.30 am.

The team: Rohit Sabharwal (capt), Wasim Ali, Avtar Singh, Aslam Shabaaz, Vinay Kumar, P.S.S. Bharath, Paramveer Singh, Abhishek Ponia, Kareemuddin, Quadeer, Dinesh, Sashidhar Rao, Bharat Chandra, Jeevan Reddy, Sohail and Abhiman. Coach: N.S. Ganesh. Manager: P. Satyanarayana (Oxford Blues).

Badminton tournament

Andhra Pradesh Badminton Association will organise Ahmed Hussain memorial Cosco State non-medallist tournament for men at Fateh Maidan Indoor Stadium from February 4 to 7, according to K.Ch. Punnaiah Choudhary, secretary APBA.

This annual tournament will feature singles and doubles competitions. Those who took part in any Nationals or inter-university tournaments are not eligible to take part. Further particulars can be had from K. Phani Rao on Phone No. 9440065604.

Six-wkt. win

Victoria recorded a six-wicket win over Postal in the A-Division (one-day) knockout cricket tournament semifinal here.

The scores: Postal 199 (Khadeer 70 not out, Prabhudas five for 28) lost to Victoria 200 for four (Amar Yadav 51, Arun Kumar 52).

Referees' exam

The Andhra Pradesh Volleyball Association will conduct a referees' exam at Ongole, Prakasam district, during the junior inter-district championship. Interested may apply to their district volleyball secretaries along with a fee of Rs. 300. Spot entries will also be accepted.
