Body-building meet

The Nizamabad District Body-building Association will organise the 46th senior inter-district championship on December 17 at the DSA Grounds.

The State teams to take part in the senior nationals in Hyderabad from January 5 to 7, 2007, will be named based on the performances here.

Meanwhile, the selection trials to pick the Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy district teams for the senior inter-district meet will be held at Hanuman Vyayamshala (Sultan Bazaar) on December 16.

Athletics selections

The Hyderabad District Veterans Athletics Association will organise selection trials at Osmania University grounds on December 16 from 2 p.m. This time a new age group of above-35 is also included.

Pat for Geetha

The Sports Authority of India (STC, Secunderabad) Assistant Director, K. Srilatha Reddy, congratulated Sathi Geetha (4x400m relay gold medallist) and P. Shankar (men's relay silver medallist) in the Doha Asian Games.

Meanwhile, members and staff of the Bison Golf Course congratulated Anirban Lahiri, the siver medallist in the team event at the Asian Games on his "wonderful achievement."

U-13 probables

The following players have been named as Hyderabad under-13 probables prior to the selection of the State team to participate in the South Zone inter-state U-13 KSCA tournament to be held in Bangalore from December 20. Arun scalps five

Arun's five-wicket haul helped Indian Star CC beat ENC Civilian Employees XI in the 21st D. Sekhar Rao memorial cricket tournament at Visakhapatnam.

The scores: Indian Star CC 149 for five (Avinash 46, B.S. Rahuram 44) bt ENC Civilian Employees XI 124 in 19.4 overs (Arun five for 28). VCC 106 in 19.3 overs lost to TSR and TBK College 108 for one in 14.4 overs (Babu 76 n.o.).

Hindustan Shipyard Degree College 140 for four in 20 overs lost to Dynamic CC 141 for six in 19.3 overs (V. Nagaraju 43).
