The PSN College of Engineering and Technology at Melathidiyoor near Palayamkottai, in association with Indian Institute of Technology - Madras, organises a seminar on `Modelling, Computing and Simulation in Engineering' on December 14 and 21 and January 2 and 11, in which technocrats from leading industries and universities across the world are expected to participate. The seminar hopes to attract undergraduate and postgraduate students and staff from engineering colleges and universities, and industrialists. The highlight of the programme is the lectures and papersto be presented by experts from Fraunhofer ITWM, Germany, Technical University of Kaiserslautern, Germany and IIT-Madras.
St. Xavier's Catholic College of Engineering, Chunkankadai in Kanyakumari district has been selected as one of the nodal centres for conducting a faculty development training programme on solid state drives, sponsored by Anna University, Chennai.
The Electrical and Electronics Engineering department of the college is organising ther 14-day programme since December 1. Renowned resource persons such as S.K. Pillai, C. Ganapathy, V.R.J. Nestor spoke. Correspondent Hilarius, principal Jayasingh and co-ordinators Mary Gesia and Kayalvizhi made the arrangements.
The Society for Manufacturing Engineers at National Engineering College, Kovilpatti, released the first issue of its journal recently. It will carry research articles contributed by eminent researchers across the globe. Raghavendra Adigal, General Manager, Sterlite Industries, released the first copy of the journal, which was received by S. Srinivasa Raghavan, Managing Director, Harihar group of companies, Tiruchi. K.S.K. Chockalingam, principal, was present.
