Lucknow: Four persons, including three students of Lucknow University here, were arrested on Wednesday in connection with the alleged kidnapping and murder of a 14-year-old boy, bringing the total number of people taken into custody to seven.

Gaurav Singh, Satyendra Singh, Vikas Mishra (all students of Lucknow University) and Chotu alias Prince Dwivedi, the alleged mastermind, were arrested by the Special Task Force (STF) of the State police, sources said here.

According to police, Chotu had allegedly provided details about Ankit's whereabouts to the kidnappers.

Yesterday, police had recovered Ankit's body from Dewan in the neighbouring Barabanki district and arrested Vikas Gupta, Bharat Gupta and Himanshu in this connection.

Ankit was kidnapped from the Eldeco Udyan Colony here on Friday last.

Those arrested revealed during investigation that they had kidnapped Ankit for ransom and had killed him when their demand was rejected by his family, the police said. PTI
