UNICEF to open nodal centre

Kanpur: In view of increasing child mortality rate in Uttar Pradesh, GSVM medical college on Wednesday entered into an agreement with UNICEF for opening a nodal centre here by January next year for bringing down the trend.

UNICEF and GSVM would work together in the State for bringing down the child death rate and providing better medical services to pregnant women.

Principal of GSVM S.K. Katiyar said the State has the highest child death rate in the country and it needs to be checked. PTI
