Varanasi: Stating that a free and fair assembly poll was not possible in Uttar Pradesh under Mulayam Singh Yadav Government, a senior BJP leader on Wednesday renewed its demand for imposition of President's rule in the State ahead of the forthcoming elections due early next year. President's rule should be imposed in Uttar Pradesh for holding free and fair assembly polls, senior BJP leader and former Union Minister Rajiv Pratap Singh Rudy said while talking to reporters here. Comparing the law and order situation in the State with that of Bihar under Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rudy said the situation in U.P. was fast deteriorating. Citing results of local bodies polls, he said the BJP would form the next government in the State. PTI
