BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, now on a visit to Kuala Lumpur, has extended an invitation for collaboration in information technology after taking a close look at the ambitious Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC) in Cyberjaya. According to an official statement here, Mr. Chauhan appreciated the initiatives taken by the Malaysian Government in establishing the Multimedia Corridor after watching a special presentation by the Corridor Vice Chairman during the second leg of his South-East Asia tour. The Multimedia Corridor, considered as Malaysia's major initiative for the global information and communication technology (ICT) industry, has accepted the Chief Minister's invitation to visit Madhya Pradesh to explore the possibility of setting up a similar ICT hub in the State. During his Kuala Lumpur visit, Mr. Chauhan also studied the infrastructure development at Putrajaya -- the new administrative centre of Malaysia. He was received at Kuala Lumpur airport by India's High Commissioner to Malaysia, R. L. Narayanan, who later hosted a dinner in his honour. The Chief Minister said the trade ties between India and Malaysia date back to the 3rd Century B.C. Mr. Chauhan said Tamilians and Sikhs from India had always worked together with the Malaysian people for development of Malaysia. He said some major companies from Malaysia were engaged in road construction works in Madhya Pradesh.
