HYDERABAD:
Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, the public sector oil major, has launched its first fully automated Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) enabled petrol station near Medchal on the city outskirts.
Launched in association with NCR Corporation, the new station will be backed with NCR's Octane 2000 software that provides a comprehensive business management system specifically developed for the fuel retail industry.
It will improve dealer efficiency and inventory position, better forecourt management, data management functionalities and checks on the quality of fuel dispensed. The automation helps customers in that they can have complete transparency in terms of fuel quality, exact quantity of fuel dispensed, automated receipt, better payment options and loyalty programmes. NCR will also provide BPCL with a complete electronic fund transfer solution to handle debit/credit/smart card transactions.
Speaking on the occasion, BPCL executive director Sanjay Krishnamurti said the new facility will offer improved cost and operational efficiencies .
