HYDERABAD: The MCH will take up construction of 30 more public conveniences under the public-private partnership in association with the GMR Group in different locations, Commissioner Sanjay Jaju said on Wednesday. With this the city, under the corporation limits, will have close to 200 public conveniences without including the `Sulabh' complexes, he said. The new toilets will be very modern and environment-friendly, as water will be conserved, he said. Already there has been an encouraging response from the citizens on usage of the public conveniences in recent times and urged the public to make use of them as they are available practically at all busy places. Mr. Jaju has expressed his satisfaction over the `improved performance' of the sanitation wing during the last few months. The corporation was also gearing up for introduction of pinpoint garbage collection programme within a month or so. After successful implementation in circle six, work was started in several parts of other circles. In the next four weeks all the tippers movement will be phased out and number of dumper bins too will be reduced to 1,000. The number of bulk garbage generating units has increased to 1,800 and trucks will pick up garbage straight from their doorsteps. New fleet will also be introduced soon. The new brand logo for the city will be unveiled by New Year, said the Commissioner. There was also a plan to have a city song.
