Boy drowned in sump
A first-standard student drowned in a sump in his house at Sai Durga Nagar in Kulsumpura on Tuesday. Five-year-old Sai Kishore alias Pandu was playing near the sump when he accidentally fell into it, the police said.
`Chain snatchers' held
The Tappachabutra police on Wednesday arrested two persons -- Mohd. Ayub and Mohd. Saleem -- on the charge of snatching chains. The gold chains weighing 14 tolas and a stolen motorcycle, all worth Rs. 2 lakhs, were recovered from their possession, Inspector M.S. Venugopala Rao said.
Youngster found murdered
A youth was found murdered at Mirjalguda village in Narsingi on Tuesday. According to the police, M. Ravi Shankar (18), a private employee and resident of Sitarambagh, was found dead in bushes with head injuries.
1 killed in accident
An autorickshaw driver was killed after his vehicle overturned at Vikarabad in Ranga Reddy district on Wednesday. The police said K. Sangaiah, (25), a resident of Mailardevpally, was going to his relative's house along with his wife, Veeramani, when the accident occurred. Veeramani escaped with minor injuries.
