HYDERABAD: Oracle Corporation, a leading enterprise solutions provider, has announced its plans to enter mobile TV, IP TV and broadband segments and the company has already initiated discussions with many telecom service providers. According to Oracle's Communications Global Business Unit Senior Vice-President, Bhaskar Gorti, the corporation had expanded over the years with strategic acquisitions that included Portal Software and MetaSolv, both of which have emerged during the Internet era. Leading telecom service providers, including BSNL, Bharti, Tata Teleservices, VSNL and MTNL, were working to become integrated telecom carriers converging GSM, broadband and IP networks in tune with the demand of emerging markets. This would provide an opportunity to Oracle to create platforms and build value added features. In this direction, the corporation had decided to partner network service providers and integrators to ensure that their businesses kept running. MetaSolv Vice-President, Sales, Sandeep Sharma, explained as to how they partnered service providers like BSNL in areas such as broadband.
