NEW DELHI:
Defence Minister A.K. Antony will lead the nation on Saturday, on the occasion of Vijay Diwas, in paying homage to the soldiers who died fighting for the nation.
It was on this day in 1971 that the three services together won the war over the Pakistani forces. The multi-pronged operation was executed with valour and planning, leading to the formation of Bangladesh.
The Amar Jawan Jyoti at India Gate will be thrown open to the public on the occasion and people will be allowed to light candles in memory of the martyrs.
They can also pay floral tributes at Amar Jawan Jyoti.
