Rupee gains 11 paise

MUMBAI: The rupee on Thursday closed remarkably higher against the U.S. currency at 44.66/67 a dollar after steep recovery in stock prices.

In active trading at the interbank foreign exchange market, the Indian unit resumed sharply lower at 44.82/83 against Wednesday's close of 44.77/78 and after falling further to a low of 44.87, rebounded sharply on heavy inflow and closed at 44.66/67, showing sharp rise over Wednesday. — PTI
