Jaipur: Sri Lanka skipper Shashikala Sriwardane led from the front to help her side score a thumping seven-wicket win over Pakistan in the women's Asia Cup cricket tournament match at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium here on Thursday. Shasikala took four wickets to restrict Pakistan to 147 for nine. For Pakistan, opener Taskeena Qadeer (37) and Sana Mir (23) were the only batters who defied the Sri Lankan attack. Shasikala (44) then shone with the bat, and along with C. Polgampala (53) took her team to victory in 43.2 overs with seven wickets in hand. Sri Lanka, which earned four points from Thursday's win, will take on India on Friday. Pakistan, which crashed to its second successive defeat, is yet to open its account. The scores: Pakistan 147 for nine in 50 overs (Shashikala four for 34) lost to Sri Lanka 151 for three in 43.2 overs (C. Polgampala 53, Shashikal Sriwardane 44). PTI
