DVRM posts win

VIJAYAWADA: DVRM XI defeated Sarada College XI by three wickets in the Krishna District Cricket Association `B' division league tournament here on Thursday.

The scores:

Sarada College XI 195 in 34.1 overs (K. Krishna 51, Satish 40, Krishna Chaitanya three for 23) lost to DVRM XI 196 for 7 in 29.3 overs (Narasimha 45, Nagul Meera 33, Srinivas four for 36).

Krishna gymnasts shine

Krishna District gymnasts K.V. Suresh and D. Nagamallesh will represent the State in the sub-junior nationals to be held in Mohali (Punjab) from December 27 to 31.

In the recently concluded inter-district championship in Hyderabad, Krishna gymnasts won one gold, 10 silvers and four bronze medals.

The medal winners:

Sub-junior boys: K.V. Suresh (High Bar-gold, parallel bar, individual all-around, team championship - silver, rings, floor exercise - bronze); D. Nagamellesh (team championship-silver, table vault - bronze); Ch. Tejdeep, Ch. Murali Krishna, V. Sivaram, K. Krishna Chaitanya (team championship-silver).

Junior girls: V. Sri Soumya, V. Sri Lalitha, A.L.S. Anushya, Ch. Krithika (team championship-bronze).

Senior rhythmic gymnastics: V. Sri Lalitha (Clubs, ribbon-silver).

Surekha impresses

Nalanda Vidya Niketan swimmers Surekha and P. Viswanath put up fine show in the inter-district School Games swimming championship, which concluded in Hyderabad on Thursday.

Surekha won the silver in 200m freestyle, 400m freestyle, 4x100m relay and 4x100m medley relay and finished third in the 100m freestyle. Viswanath was second in 100m freestyle and took the third place in 200m freestyle, 4x100m relay and 4x100m medley relay.

AP probables

Andhra Pradesh probables to attend the coaching camp for the forthcoming 23rd Youth National basketball championships in Jaipur (Jan. 9 to 15) were named here on Thursday.

The players are to report at YMCA, Secunderabad, from Dec. 18.
