KOZHIKODE : Punjab National Bank (PNB) has launched a new internet-based remittance service in association with Buyindiaonline.com Inc, a U.S.-based company. S.P. Singh, PNB Zonal Manager for Kerala, said that NRIs could remit money to their relatives and friends through the website www.Xoom.com and a proper funding source, that is bank accounts and credit/debit cards. This transfer facility is available through over 2,100 Core Banking Solution (CBS) branches. PNB has 75 such CBS branches in Kerala. More details can be had at the bank's website www.pnbindia.com. Mr. Singh said the bank had introduced a tailor-made health insurance scheme,`PNB Arogya Shree', for its customers. The product is underwritten by Reliance General Insurance and customised for the customers of the bank. The policy could be bought by any customer in the age group 5-65. Children aged between 3 months and five years can be covered if one or both the parents are covered. The insurance policy comprises a composite risk cover which includes medical expenses for hospitalisation, personal accident and critical illness.
