CHENNAI : A 63-year-old man was found murdered in his flat in Perambur under mysterious circumstances. Police identified the deceased as Sriramulu, who was living alone on Ramamurthy Street. The crime came to light only on Wednesday night when a delivery boy from a local shop found it suspicious that the door was locked since morning. Sembium police have registered a case of murder for gain and are investigating. Neighbours in the apartment block said they were not aware of the crime. They had no idea who had gained entry into the house or when the victim was done to death. Police said the murderers had tied the victim's hands and legs, and strangulated him. The value of movable property like cash or gold missing from the house is also not known.
Moneylender
According to a local resident, Sriramulu used to lend money to people in the area. He reportedly gave some money to his daughter and son after selling of a property recently. Joint Commissioner of Police (North) M Ravi said that police were investigating a few leads, and hoped to zero in on the suspects soon.
