An action-filled operation

The dignified quiet along the corridors of Madras University's building in Chepauk witnessed some action on Wednesday after some people found themselves stuck in a lift.

Lunch break at Madras University became an hour of bustle on Wednesday with nine members stranded between the first and the second floor in the University building in Chepauk around 1.16 p.m., fire service personnel said. Only when the men and women were rescued by Fire and Rescue service personnel from Triplicane did they breathe a sigh of relief.
