Jairaj reviews road project work progress

BANGALORE: Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BMP) Commissioner K. Jairaj on Thursday reviewed the progress of roadworks taken up under the Karnataka Municipal Reforms Project (KMRP).

According to a press release, work on Koramangala 80 Feet Road, N.R. Square Road, Mission Road, Langford Road and Kammanahalli Main Road will be completed by December 31. Work on Magadi Road, Kathriguppe Main Road and Bannerghatta Main Road will be done by January 31 and Padarayanapura Main Road will be ready by February 28, the release said. The Commissioner reviewed the ongoing remodelling of storm water drains running along the four major valleys — Challaghatta, Koramangala, Hebbal and Vrishabhavathi. All the packages of this project, being taken up under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM), should be completed within the stipulated deadline of November 2007, the Commissioner told the engineers, the release added.
