PMC member seeks tabling of Goondas Act

Puducherry: The Legislature Party leader of the Puducherry Munnetra Congress (PMC) K. Lakshminarayanan on Friday urged Speaker R. Radhakrishnan to let him table call attention motion notice for which he said he had already given requisition to the Chair. Mr. Radhakrishnan, however, told the member that he would send a reply to him soon and consequently no permission was available to the member to raise any discussion.

Mr. Lakshminarayanan told the Speaker that he wanted to urge, though a call attention motion, the necessity to enforce Goondas Act in Union Territory as there was unchecked increase in the crimes including murder, robberies and burglaries.
