Two killed as truck falls into ditch

CHAMARAJANAGAR: Two persons died on the spot and 27 were injured when a lorry by which they were travelling fell into a ditch on Naveelur-Aldur Road on Thursday.

The police gave the names of the victims as Madaiah (55), alias Karupaiah, and lorry cleaner Suresh of Mugur village. The condition of Renuka and Puttamanni was critical and they were admitted to K.R. Hospital in Mysore. Umesh, Yathiraju, Pushpa, Rangaswamy Shetty, Siddaraju, and Aldur Rathnamma were admitted to K.R. Hospital and T. Narasipur Government Hospital, the police said.
