LONE CRUSADER: Athira with the album.

Athira, a student of Class VI, L.S.N. Girls High School, Ottapalam, has been waging a silent campaign against war and destruction for the past three years.

She has made many albums with pictures sourced from newspapers. The albums titled `Trails of Destruction' contain 225 pictures depicting the U.S. attack on Iraq, the destruction it wrought and the sufferings of the people.

She began making the albums when she was studying in Class III.

Her album has been exhibited in many schools. The album helped create awareness among schoolchildren, she said.

Athira writes poetry and paints as well. Her hobbies include coin and stamp collection. She has a collection of old coins from different parts of the country.

Her latest passion is photography.

Her father, Thekkinkattil Jyothykumar, is a photographer.

This youngster also won the `Kalathilakam' title in the last sub-district school festival in the L.P. section.
