TCS shortlists seven students

Staff Reporter

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Following a campus recruitment drive conducted at University College, Thiruvananthapuram, last week by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Ltd., seven students have been short-listed for employment in 2007.

According to information made available by the Career Guidance and Placement Committee of the college, the recruitment programme began with a pre-placement presentation on December 8. This was attended by 110 students of the final year B.Sc./ first year M.Sc. courses at the departments of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Geology.

Prior to this, 89 students had attended the written test for selection of Graduate Software Trainees held on November 29. The test was open only to those who scored at least 60 per cent marks in the matriculation examinations and for the first two year of the B.Sc. courses. After getting past questions probing analytical skills, verbal ability and reasoning prowess the candidates went on to face a round of group discussions.

At this point 26 students were selected to go on to the technical and HR interviews. Of the 19 who turned up, seven, were short-listed. The selected students have been asked to report at TCS in July /August 2007 for a seven-month induction programme.
